Vaginal Discharge and Itching

Vaginal discharge is the secretion expelled from the uterus.
It is influenced by female hormones, specifically follicle-stimulating hormone and luteal hormone, and undergoes changes in quantity, color, viscosity, and other aspects in a regular cycle similar to menstruation.
During ovulation, it becomes more viscous to facilitate sperm acceptance.
Additionally, it plays an important role in preventing the invasion of vaginal bacteria and maintaining moisture.

While vaginal discharge naturally varies in accordance with the menstrual cycle, if there are differences in color, quantity, odor, or if itching occurs, it may indicate the possibility of infection or inflammation.
In such cases, it is recommended to seek medical attention for proper evaluation.

Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

There are various types of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Different diseases can cause a variety of symptoms such as changes in vaginal discharge color or consistency, lower abdominal pain, itching in the external genital area, and discomfort.

Some STIs, such as gonorrhea and chlamydia, may have few noticeable symptoms, yet if left untreated, they can lead to infertility.
Therefore, it is recommended to seek early medical attention.

Microscopic Examination	Microscopic examination using a microscope.
Chlamydia Antigen	Causes sexually transmitted infections. In women, it can lead to infertility.
Gonorrhea Antigen	Causes sexually transmitted infections. In women, it often presents with minimal symptoms.
Syphilis (RPR, TPHA)	Causes sexually transmitted infections.
HIV-1, 2 Antibodies	The virus that causes AIDS.
HBs Antigen	The virus that causes Hepatitis B.
HCV Antibodies	The virus that causes Hepatitis C.
