Medical Society Information

Oak participated in the following conferences and made presentations.
At ESHRE, one of the two major international conferences on infertility, both of our presentations were selected as TOP150 presentations.
We were able to receive the impressions and opinions of the overseas trainees who came to the presentation, such as "It is a very rare and solid randomized controlled trial."
We learned useful hints for future research.

Letters from Patients

◆It was hard, during fertility treatment, to picture having children, but now I do!
I'm glad I went to the in vitro fertilization step.
In the future, if I want a second child, I may try it with frozen eggs. Thank you very much.

◆Thanks to the help of Oak Sumiyoshi Obstetrics and Gynecology, I was able to have a second child.
I changed from another hospital to this place, and thanks to Dr. Taguchi's detailed explanations, I was able to work on various treatments with peace of mind.
Looking at my daughter's face, I'm really grateful for what you did here.

Infertility News

Aged miscarriage: Mainly due to decreased protein "cohesin"(7/2)

The Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology has put together a proposal to shorten "2 years" to "1 year" for the definition of infertility, which is currently defined as the inability to get pregnant for more than 2 years despite trying.
In August, the proposal will be reviewed.
The reasons for shortening the period are that late marriage has progressed and early examinations and treatments are required, and that the Western Reproductive Medicine Society has set it as one year.

Oocyte donation: "Woman who gave birth is mother" Liberal Democratic Party submits special bill (6/9)

The Liberal Democratic Party's project team has decided to submit a special bill of the Civil Code to the Diet, which states that if a third party gives birth by donating eggs, the mother of the child will be the "woman who gave birth."
Surrogacy is not expected under the current Civil Code.
Therefore, it was not specified whether the mother was the woman who gave birth or the woman who provided eggs.
This project aims to legally organize parent-child relationships that were not envisioned in the previous legal system due to advances in assisted reproductive technology.
In the future, a study group will be set up in the Diet to hold various discussions on assisted reproductive technology.
