Contraception: Ring

A contraceptive ring is a device that is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy.
We call it a ring, but it is a T-shaped device, not a ring.
The shape was also improved to make it easier to insert and remove, resulting in the current T-shaped contraceptive device.
The correct term is IUD (intrauterine device).

About Contraceptive Rings

This method is inserted into the uterus to prevent implantation of a fertilized egg and is as effective a contraceptive as the pill.
Unlike the pill, there is no need to take it every day, so it is recommended for those who often forget to take it or who are prone to side effects.
The contraceptive rate is at about 95% effectiveness and once inserted can last for two years.
